Dan was educated at the University of Michigan where he received his D.D.S in 1983. He began painting in 1989. Immediately, Dan knew painting was his "calling". Friends urged him to sell his paintings. Resisting this temptation, he continued to develop his style. Larger and more colorful paintings resulted.
Selling his original art, Atlanta Artist Danny Byl has achieved incredible results. His works have received critical acclaim, but more importantly, international exposure.
Recording artist Rich Lerner, along with Italian recording artist Joe Slump, use a painting that graces the cover of both of their CD's.
Danny's "The White House" painting is currently being featured in the White House Historical Association Building.
All this is impressive when you consider Dan was a full time practicing dentist in 1996. Danny says "I had to make a decision between continuing in dentistry or pursuing a dream, I chose the dream!"
